Job Description
Oikocredit is a co-operative financial institution that finances and invests in microfinance institutions, co-operatives and small and medium sized enterprises in developing countries, aimed at social impact. All over the world we provide micro-entrepreneurs, small businesses, agricultural cooperatives and other productive enterprises with the capital they need to expand their businesses and improve their livelihoods.
Oikocredit USA seeks a candidate with strong relationship-building and persuasion skills. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter and able to work independently. This candidate will also be relied upon to serve as the main point of contacts for key events and outreach efforts in and around the Bay area. The successful candidate is expected to join team calls remotely and contribute to the development of new strategies that will deepen Oikocredit’s brand and outreach. Experience in marketing or business development would be helpful.
Persons interested in our Outreach Coordinator positions should:
• Be available to work from their homes
• Be able to take initiatives to contact churches, foundations, community groups in order to set up educational meetings with support from the national Oikocredit office in Washington, DC
The Outreach Coordinator reports to the Executive Director.
Key Responsibilities:
• Be able to coordinate visits to your city by national staff
• Be able to keep a database of contacts and networks
• Be committed to social and economic justice
• Be able to distribute Oikocredit literature and audio-visual materials to people and groups in your community with resources provided
• Have organizing skills and experience
• Share and report information with the Oikocredit national office
Technical Skills Preferred
• General computer literacy
• Comfort with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) are needed
• Experience with Salesforce or similar relationship management system
• Familiarity with social media tools like FaceBook, LinkedIn, and Twitter
Position will be for 20 hours per week at $20 per hour. Candidates will need to be living in the city where they work. Position may expand depending on performance.
