Job Description

Through the lens of faith, ICCR builds a more just and sustainable world by integrating social values into investor actions.

There are opportunities for unpaid interns who wish to hone their skills and gain experience by working in a progressive nonprofit environment. Internships are available during the academic year as well as the summer. Interns should be willing to commit a minimum of 3 months (may be extended upon intern request), and at least 10 hours per week. Interns may chose to work in our ICCR office in New York City, or remotely via their campus or home location.

You may be eligible for an unpaid internship if you have:

• an interest in ICCR’s work in coalition and an understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility and/or Socially Responsible Investing;
• effective written and spoken communication skills;
• intellectual curiosity about emerging technology and its impact on business, economies, and society;
• working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
• a well-organized, detail-oriented approach to work; and
• the ability to multi-task effectively.

From an internship with ICCR, we expect that interns will gain:

• an opportunity to learn about, and contribute to, the mission of the Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility;
• an opportunity to bridge the gap between theoretical study and the professional world, especially as it relates to corporate social responsibility, socially responsible investing, work in the non-profit sector, and work from a faith-based perspective;
• the chance to explore and clarify career choices and goals; and
• research, writing, analytical and communication skills and gain decision making and critical thinking skills, increased confidence and self-esteem.

Program Issues Areas

This internship is ideal for those taking undergraduate or graduate courses relevant to ICCR’s work. The successful applicant will be have research experience and statistical background (successful experience using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies); experience in analyzing, interpreting, and reporting data; ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously; and excellent written and oral communications skills.  Interns may chose to focus on one of the following three program areas:

• Policy & Governance, assisting with research and analysis of the risks associated with economic and business regulatory systems
• Environment and Energy, assisting with the research and analysis of business risks associated with corporate environmental externalities
• Human Rights and Resources, assisting with the research and analysis of ethical and social sustainability themes and trends
