Job Description

SAI is a multi-stakeholder organization that advances Human Rights at Work to benefit both employees and employers.  We facilitate the development of sustainability standards; partner with business and civil society to enable organizations to successfully implement such standards; and work with SAI Corporate Program members and SA8000®-certified facilities to provide training & tools for improving work conditions and realizing the benefits.   Facilities in 65 countries are certified to SA8000®, which is based on international labor and human rights conventions and labor law plus a proven management system. 

 

We are seeking an administrative intern based in Bangalore, India to support our India Program, which includes:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting the following activities:

  • Research Indian labor law, local labor codes and various social compliance initiatives, to integrate into training curriculum development

  • Prepare and coordinate publication of promotional materials and newsletter/website articles

  • Coordinate schedules and organize logistics for training workshops and stakeholder consultations, including venues, catering, and printed materials

  • Correspond with trainers, brands, factories and other project participants regarding workshop logistics and other project activities

  • Collect and analyze surveys and other feedback from brands, factories and other project participants, including local stakeholder groups

  • Update and maintain electronic files and database

  • Prepare administrative documents such as project activity and expense reports

  • Coordinate with SAI HQ in USA on the above

Location: Bangalore, India

Internship length:  flexible – minimum 6 month commitment required.

Working days:  flexible day schedule, but minimum 20 hours per week.

Reports to: SAI India Project Director

Compensation: Modest stipend will be paid. Daily travel expenses within Bangalore will be reimbursed.
