Purpose of the Job

Greenpeace International, the global coordinating office of the world’s leading environmental organization and active in 40 countries is seeking an HR Advisor to join a tight-knit, professional HR team at Greenpeace International, located in Amsterdam. The contract is for an initial period of 12 months.

 

This position provides a great opportunity to engage with one of the world’s largest and most successful environmental organizations to advise management on HR policies, procedures, individual personnel cases and the legal labor law system in the Netherlands. In this job you will recruit, develop and retain staff together with managers in order to ensure that the best possible employees are in the right positions. Hence we are looking for someone who feels comfortable in making substantial improvements in a dynamic and multicultural environment to enable Greenpeace to achieve outstanding results. Besides that, you will develop and maintain relationships with our local offices, recruitment agencies, health service, expat service and legal advisors.  

Skills and qualifications

This is an outstanding opportunity for a qualified HR Advisor with international experience, who is looking for new professional challenges and the opportunity to grow in a dynamic multicultural setting. Ideally, you will have at least 3 years work experience as an all-round HR Advisor. Although you have worked in an international context, you also have good knowledge of Dutch labor legislation, preferably with experience in dealing with expat regulations and some knowledge of the Dutch tax system. Next to this, you have good people skills, a high level of integrity and diplomacy and a pro-active approach. Experience with development of job descriptions and the Hay grading methodology is considered to be a plus. You are well capable to communicate HR-policies and your ideas to managers in a way that is supportive to them in fluent English, both written and verbal.
