Full-Time Green Building LEED Technical Consultant, Seatle
Job Description
Provide technical consulting to green building projects and to clients interested in incorporating sustainable development practices into their projects. Specific responsibilities include:
Provide technical consulting and documentation for projects seeking LEED® or other green building certification, including analysis of daylight and views, water use, lighting power density.
Energy modeling for the purpose of advising client on system selection and for LEED credit documentation.
Ventilation calculations.
Provide accurate and concise analysis and research of local code issues to make recommendations to project teams that facilitate decision making on green building projects.
Assist project design teams with incorporation of green building strategies and LEED requirements into plans and specifications.
LEED-online documentation.
Interface with a wide range of internal and external resources including clients, architects, engineers, contractors, commissioning authorities and facility managers.
Manage budgets and scope of work for consulting contracts.
Take responsibility for driving projects to completion as well as keeping the team informed of progress and outstanding issues relating to each project.
Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned as needed.
Desired Skills & Experience
Bachelors degree in architecture, engineering, environmental management or construction
Minimum of 5 years experience in related field
Experience in the design or construction of green building projects, with LEED certification experience preferred
Excellent research and analytical skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office required and a DOE-2 based energy modeling software preferred
Green building professional certification required; LEED Accredited Professional or Sustainable Building Advisor preferred
Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling twisting and lifting. Must be able to lift at least 20 pounds in the form of supplies, drawings, etc.
