Job Description
The Principles for Responsible Investment is an investor initiative in partnership with UNEP Finance Initiative and the UN Global Compact. Launched by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, the PRI is a set of voluntary best practice principles to assist investors in integrating environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues into investment processes and ownership practices. The Principles are supported by a Secretariat that promotes the PRI and provides implementation support to signatories.
This role is an exciting opportunity to lead an expanding team within the global organisation dedicated to responsible investment. You would be a member of the senior management team of the United-Nations backed PRI Secretariat and would oversee signatory recruitment, signatory relations, PRI Networks, signatory communications and the PRI annual and regional events. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional with business development, accounts management, people and project management skills.
This role would oversee signatory recruitment and work with the Signatory Recruitment Manager to prioritise and execute country recruitment strategies as well as overseeing the analysis and effective segmentation of PRI signatories by the Signatory Relations Manager. In this cross-cutting role the Director of this portfolio would shape the value proposition for signatories and oversee its delivery within the expanding PRI global networks team. Importantly this role would also oversee PRI communications and PRI organised events.
Specific tasks include:
- Managing a range of functions undertaken within the ‘Director of Global Development’ portfolio.
- The role has significant people management responsibility, more than 12 staff currently and expanding.
- Identifying areas for the strategic global growth of the PRI initiative and developing and implementing a strategy for this growth.
- Working with the Executive Director and management team to support the implementation of the strategy and the business plan as required.
Requirements and likely experience:
- Demonstrable skills in communications, sales and marketing, accounts management and client retention, public relations, required for this role.
- Previous investment or responsible investment experience preferred.
- Strong people management skills and demonstrated ability to develop and manage
teams. - Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritise.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the capacity to contribute to the management team and to provide high level strategic advice and support to the Executive Director, Board and its committees;
- Experience in the development and delivery of a customer centric strategy
- A philosophical commitment to ESG/RI and the goals of the United Nations.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Prepared to travel globally as required
- Team player – the successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of being positive and constructive within team environments.
