Job Description

Cone Communications seeks a PR professional with six months to two years of related or PR agency experience in the area of Corporate Responsibility (“CR”) to join our innovative CR discipline as an Assistant Account Executive.

Candidates should have defined interest in supporting and following CR trends in the areas of environmental sustainability, ethical practices, health and wellness, human rights and supply chain issues, transparency and CR reporting, etc.

In this dynamic role, the Assistant Account Executive becomes an integral member of the account teams and provides support on key deliverables, such as daily/monthly media monitoring, substantive research/trend analyses, client correspondence, creative materials, media materials, presentations and case studies that will advance our clients’ CR programs forward.

Also, the Assistant Account Executive will provide overall organizational and account management support to account teams, including filing of materials/documents, creating and updating team to-do lists and project timelines, scheduling meetings and conference calls and other activities associated with general account management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting daily media scanning and research on the client, the industry, relevant issues, the media, the consumer, the competition and other related areas.
  • Conducting in-depth research on CR related issues, consumer and CR media landscape, editors and media contacts; conferences and speaking opportunities; events, vendors, etc.
  • Participating in client conference calls, attending client meetings and responding to client requests as appropriate and approved by the account team lead.

The assistant Account Executive must possess:

  • Passion and creativity when applying PR skills to assignments, including CR-related communications and branded platforms.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Reliability when it comes to following directions and completing tasks and assignments on time and with thorough attention to detail.
  • Be self-motivated, a self-starter, take initiative and demonstrate appropriate follow-through.
  • Effective listening, strong verbal and written communications skills (including grammar).
  • Eagerness and willingness to learn.
  • Professionalism.
  • A commitment to being ethical in business dealings and upholding Cone’s values of teamwork, integrity, intellectual curiosity, passion and commitment to excellence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet research.
